To help case managers and families find the right care quickly, Wayfinder orders the provider directory in a consistent, predictable way. We know providers want to understand where they land and why — so here's exactly how it works.
How the Directory Is Ordered
Three factors determine where an agency appears, applied in this order:
Claimed profiles come first. Agencies that have claimed their profile appear ahead of unclaimed ones, since a claimed profile is actively managed and kept current.
More complete profiles rank higher. Within each group, agencies are ordered by how complete their profile is. The more useful information you provide, the higher you appear.
Alphabetical as a tiebreak. When two agencies are equally complete, they're listed A–Z by name.
This ordering applies to the provider directory — the list case managers and families browse. It's separate from how RFPs are matched and sent to you. If you're wondering about RFP notifications instead, see Why Am I Not Receiving RFPs?
What Counts Toward Completeness
Your completeness reflects how fully your profile is filled out. Here's what counts:
Logo
Description
Bio
Phone
Email
Services
Service Areas
Waivers
Languages
Each element simply counts as complete or not — there's no partial credit. For Services, Service Areas, Waivers, and Languages, adding at least one entry is what counts toward your score.
How to Improve Your Placement
Every change you make recalculates your placement automatically — there's nothing extra to submit. To move up:
Claim your profile if you haven't already.
Write a description and bio that highlight what makes your agency different.
Add your contact details — phone, email, and website.
List your Services, Service Areas, Waivers, and Languages.
You can update all of these from your agency profile.
The Bottom Line
A complete profile doesn't just rank higher — it gives case managers and families the information they need to choose you with confidence. The same effort that moves you up the directory also makes you easier to say yes to.
