What Wayfinder Can (and Can't) Do for Clients and Families

An overview of what Wayfinder offers clients and families, including what you can access and what's managed by your case manager.

Updated today

Wayfinder is a Colorado Medicaid platform that helps connect people who need Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) with provider agencies. Here's a clear breakdown of what you can and can't do as a client or family member.

What You Can Do

Search the Provider Directory

The public provider directory is open to all users. You can search and filter by service type, Medicaid waiver, county, care setting, age group, and language, and view full provider profiles including contact information, services offered, and locations.

Receive Provider Proposals by Email

If your case manager adds your email address to your RFP's notification list, you'll receive an email each time a provider responds to your RFP. Each email includes a link to the provider's Wayfinder profile so you can learn more about them before making a decision. You don't need a Wayfinder account to receive these emails.

What You Can't Do

  • View proposals directly in Wayfinder β€” Proposals are delivered by email, not shown in your account.

  • See your own client record β€” Case manager notes, your personal information, and RFP details are not visible to individuals or families in Wayfinder.

  • Manage RFPs yourself β€” Your case manager leads the RFP process. You participate through email notifications and conversations with your CM.

Want to Be More Involved?

Ask your case manager to add your email address to the RFP notification list. That's the best way to stay informed as providers respond to your RFP. See How to Receive Provider Proposals by Email for details.
